KEF LSX Wireless Music System
Whichever reviewer got their hands on the KEF LSX would simply have to nominate it for a Blue Note Award. I called it the greatest thing since sliced bread. OK, a bit of hyperbole there, but how else should we react to a modestly priced wireless streaming speaker that throws an enormous image and looks beautiful in a wide range of optional colors. This is not a computer speaker that grew up, but a high end monitor that shrunk (from the LS50), using its dual concentric Uni-Q driver to provide superb imaging, and digital processing and amplification to create a flat bandwidth in any position. Sure, it doesn't serve up either the highest resolution or the loudest volumes, although it goes a good way in both directions. Having Tidal and Spotify built in and being able to control it from my phone makes the LSX a treat to manipulate. You can choose to connect the two speakers to each other by cable to get the highest digital resolution, or wirelessly for maximum convenience. This is not KEF's first wireless streaming speaker and it shows. They know what they are doing, and through firmware updates and updated apps on your phone, these speakers are just going to get better over time. At $1099 a pair and measuring just 9.5" x 6.1" x 7.1", these are easy-to-choose Enjoy the Music.com Blue Note 2019 winners.
