Issue 115    September 2014
Show Season
Editorial By Alan Sircom

Hi-Fi+ Issue 115 September 2014  Show season has come round fast this year. It seems like only a few weeks ago that we were packing ourselves off to Munich, with the promise of a long summer before the events calendar kicks off again in September. Now we are already gearing up for the National Audio Show, which will run on the 20th and 21st September 2014 at Whittlebury Hall, near Silverstone racetrack.

This year, we are going to be there in full effect. Both our Publisher, Chris Martens, and I will be in the Monza suite running demonstrations of some of the best audio equipment from recent issues. Whether it's the finest in headphone entertainment, or the latest system, we'll be on hand to demonstrate, and be there to answer your questions, too.

In addition, we will be providing our usual collection of back issues, new issues, special offers for subscriptions, and more from our Monza suite room.

The National Audio Show is more than just Hi-Fi+'s demonstration. The Saturday and Sunday of the show will see many demonstrations from many of audio's finest, and some of its newest. The show has a very different 'feel' to high-end spectaculars like the Munich High End or the bargain-hunting zeal of Bristol Sound & Vision, and that often makes it one of the friendliest events on the whole audio calendar as a result.

Everyone from Abyss to WBT will be there, both as standalone exhibitors, and as part of distributor and dealer specific demonstrations. In addition, special demonstrations and lectures from The Clarity Alliance and Classic Album Sundays ensure this should be more than yet another hi-fi show.

The show runs from 10am-6pm on Saturday 20th, and from 10am-5pm on Sunday 21st. There is also a Steve Hogarth concert on the evening of the 20th. Tickets are £16 on the day, but £13 if booked online, as well as an £18.50 weekend pass, while the show pass and the concert costs £30. Full details are available from the organiser's website for more information.

It's also competition time! Not only do we have an excellent competition from Vertere in this issue, but it's time to highlight our two lucky winners from some of our previous competitions. Congratulations to Gerard Peters of London, England, who wins a special Hi-Fi+ signature pair of Wilson Benesch Square One loudspeakers, and to Lucas Armstrong of Wellington, New Zealand, who wins a pair of Final Audio Design Pandora Hope VI headphones. Thanks to all who entered these competitions and good luck next time!
