Artison RCC Nano 1 Is Perhaps The World's Smallest High Quality Subwoofer
Artison RCC Nano 1 Active SubwooferArtison is here at CEDIA 2014 showcasing the world's smallest subwoofer–the RCC Nano 1 ($99)–which the company says is "bringing a new level of performance matched with design to installers, dealers and audiophiles." Well, we're not sure audiophiles or high-output sound quality is truly achieved, yet yes there is no doubt the diminutive RCC Nano 1 has been designed for ease of positioning. Measuring only 7.5" x 8" x 9" including feet and grilles, this compact 300 watt subwoofer has the piston area of an oversized 8" woofer. Outfitted with variable crossovers and dual active 6.5" long throw aluminum drivers, the Nano 1 produces omni-directional low-frequency sound waves. Because of its diminutive size, the Nano 1 provides installers and interior designers with a new option in unobtrusive sub-bass that can be coupled with virtually any audio system.

Artison RCC Nano 1 SubwooferThe Nano 1 incorporates Artison's reactance canceling (vibration free) design, which ensures frequency response and secure placement that will not vibrate off a surface. Constructed of 6061 T6 aluminum, the Nano's enclosure is both rigid and thin, which are both highly desirable within this small subwoofer. Artison's use of absorbing damping materials internally and a unique bass enhancing algorithm allows the inconspicuous Nano 1 to perform like a larger design. The new Artison RCC Nano 1 subwoofer has a built-in wireless input, high and low level hardwired inputs, 12 volt trigger, is auto-sensing and has a multi-voltage power supply. For adjustments, there is digital phase shifting and a variable crossover. The all aluminum enclosure is available in black or white finish). Frequency response is from 32 Hz to 160 Hz.

"Many installations and audio configurations benefit from a freestanding subwoofer," said Cary Christie, Artison's iconic founder and chief designer. "With the Nano 1 subwoofer, our custom installer and CE dealer partners can help their customers achieve optimal bass and special effects reproduction from a compact unit that complements any décor."
