Auro Technologies Auro-3D Mensa And Crux
Auro Technologies, together with partner Datasat Digital Entertainment , are showing their new Auro-3D Mensa and Crux AV sound processors (€17,800 and
€10,370 respectively). For those unfamiliar, Auro Technologies are the creators of the Auro-3D format, which has it's sights set on the cinema industry with 3D Immersive Sound. This moves the listener from two-dimensional Surround Sound formats (5.1/7.1) to Auro-3D by adding the missing third dimension of height. Height is big thing here at CEDIA as you'll be hearing quite a bit about Dolby's Atmos technology too. The specialized Auro-3D speaker layouts "deliver immersive and natural sound experience around the viewer which surpasses anything you've ever heard before" says the company. The partnership between Auro Technologies and Datasat Digital Entertainment, a leader in audio solutions for commercial and home cinema, allows both companies to collaborate and develop a range of processors incorporating Auro-3D immersive sound.

Auro Technologies' Mensa AV Processor is versatile, customizable and feature-rich. The Auro-3D Crux is the first integrated 3D sound home cinema processor aims to deliver high-end audio features at a price point for a wide range of home cinemas and media rooms. "The Crux and Mensa are the latest additions to our range, bringing a world of 3D sound into the home and we are delighted to showcase them at our booth during CEDIA." says Wilfried Van Baelen, founder and CEO of Auro Technologies "We're sure that everyone will be excited to see the latest additions of this new sound revolution, which started with the launch of the Auro-3D format in 2010 as a cross-market solution for next generation audio. The closer to real life sound, the more immersive is the real impact which results in a heightened emotional experience, brought to each consumer thanks to the Auro-3D format!"

Also at CEDIA 2014 is their Auro-3D Auriga AV Receiver that was first introduced at CES in January 2014. The Auro-3D Auriga produces 3D audio using the company's state-of-the-art processor, which delivering a 540° hemispherical sound field with high-resolution audio. This AV receiver combines their best technologies in a single unit and within an elegant form designed for the discerning luxury residential customer.

"The Auro-3D Auriga is a state-of-the-art processor delivering the most efficient immersive sound at home using the unique Auro-3D speaker layout" states Wilfried Van Baelen. "Bringing these three new products to market is truly an audio breakthrough, being the first ever AV Processors and Receivers for home cinema that reproduce true 3D Sound in front, above and all around the viewer. Auro-3D creates a 360+180° hemispherical sound field with high resolution audio in each channel and is full backwards compatibility." The unit provides eight PCM channels in hi-res audio using existing Blu-ray players. The single file distribution and backwards compatibility of the Auro-3D format allows 3D sound to be easily delivered into the home via Blu-ray discs, with playback in Stereo, 5.1 / 7.1 surround sound, and Auro 9.1 (up to Auro 13.1). Additionally, the integrated Auro-Matic allows existing, native stereo and surround sound content to be up-mixed, converting all legacy film and music into a 3D listening experience.

Over 60 international film are already slated for release in Auro-3D, with more films and music titles yet to come. Recently published music titles are pop band Mando Diao's latest album, Aelita, and German ambient pop project Lichtmond's latest album with the world's first ambient album in immersive Auro-3D, Lichtmond 3 – Days of Eternity.
