UK Audio 2023 Show Report
Enjoying wonderful music at the UK Audio Show 2023.

  GPoint Audio assembled a system with Circle Labs P300 preamp and M200 power amplifier, the DAC was the LampizatOr Atlantic TRP. TRP is short for Tube Rollers Paradise. The name Atlantic reflects when Lukasz Fikus sailed across the Atlantic.

Cultured Audio lived up to its name big time with a large room system featuring Tannoy Kensington GR speakers. GR may stand for GREAT!

Alchris Audio designs and manufactures its speakers. On demo here at the UK Audo Show 2023 was the impressive Alchris V-200. The speakers were quite large for the small room. On the Saturday, the setup wasn't ideal whereas on Sunday some extra room treatments had been implemented along the side walls. This greatly optimized the sound. This demonstrated the need for room treatments. This doesn't reflect on the system, it's all about the reflections from the room!

OB Audio are highly skilled woodworkers that supply CNC machined DIY assembly speaker cabinets. Normal loudspeaker boxes are available, but I preferred to picture the wonderful oak baffles presented in their room. I was assured the timber was responsibly sourced from a local oak tree which came down in a storm.

3 Square Audio from Derby was producing very high-quality sounds with their Ayal speaker. It's crossover is first-order and the cabinet is made from Baltic Birch ply. You can see the care taken to time align the drivers too. Priced at £1,950.

Connecting Music Distribution gave us the pleasure of hearing the German Blumenhofer Acoustics speakers. The top-mounted horn is especially neatly engineered.
