2022 Show Report
Before descending the elevator, I ducked into the large Bonaventure room populated with the wares of Daniel Jacques Distribution and Studio Solution. A lot of items seemed to be offered at deep discount prices such as this Micromega Myspeaker with a "Yard Sale Price" of $299 and an SRP of $649.
You could also save large with this Crystal Minissimo Diamond speaker with a yard sale price of $12,999 and an SRP of $28,000. Wild!
This large Pathos integrated hybrid amp had striking architecture, but no price.
In the far corner on a single table was a series of room treatments from Studio Solution. The black and white squares were CAD 75, the wood diffuser was CAD 350, and the standing baffle was CAD 60. In all, this area was rather sparsely filled in comparison with pre-Covid times, but at least consumers and manufacturers were getting together live, once again.
At the top of the elevator at a table with her CDs and LPs once again was Anne Bisson, sometimes seen there with her daughter. We exchanged a virtual hug and a little chat. She looked very happy meeting fans again at this show. With another album or two, she is going to need a bigger table!
On the Lower Level
More headphones with easy access, but in a noisy environment.
And YES!!! My getaway car in gleaming inconspicuous red. Now, which way is outta here? (McClaren, if you need to know.)
An early adventure in submersible personal listening. Things will get very serious in Part 3, I promise. The lower level was where the heavy hitters were found. To be continued...
