Munich HIGH END Show Report 2015
Questyle had new hardware and firmware for their upcoming QP1R ($899) and I heard it in prototype at AXPONA 2015 and now hearing the production model today I am quite impressed. Excellent resolution, very smooth and refined. There is definitely an improvement over the version i heard during AXPONA. DAC chip set is the Cirrus Logic, which is the same as within the Astell&Kern AK240.
Boot up time from cold start was within seconds! Very fast even when loading/reading my 64GB test card filled with a plethora of mp3 files (strictly to test load time) and a big folder of high resolution music. Can't wait to get one for review!!!
Here we see Questyle's Bruce Ball proudly holding their new unit. It feels very solid and easy to carry.
Also at their booth is their upcoming CMA800P preamp for the Stax SR-009 electrostatic headphones. Very nice!
