With more countries opening up for international travel, CanJam Singapore 2023 saw more international brands exhibiting. This year, the sixth edition of CanJam Singapore was held at the same venue, Pan Pacific, on the 25th and 26th of March. Many companies will showcase their latest products and innovations in head-fi across all price ranges.

Same as last year, the event took place within the massive Pacific Ballroom, with booths spanking all sides and the middle.

AROMA Audio, from Hong Kong, captivated the head-fi scene rapidly in just a short period of time. From a brand that started with just in-ear monitors, it quickly ventured into headphone amplification and digital to analog converters. Here in CanJam, the brand not only showcased its complete range of products, but also introduced three new products, namely two in-ear monitors, JAM and NEO, and the latest Bluetooth portable amplifier, AIR.

AROMA Audio is no stranger to many musicians as the products have always been tuned for musicians and used for monitoring on stage. The JAM and NEO are two in-ear monitors that resulted from collaboration with an independent music brand in Hong Kong, Jam in the Room.

Both the JAM and NEO in-ear monitors use the new 9.2 mm moving coil unit developed by AROMA Audio. The whole design idea is to simplify complexity by reducing the number of drivers. However, there is a slight difference between the moving coil unit used in JAM and NEO. The moving coil unit used in JAM consists of two moving iron units while the one used in JAM consists of only one moving iron unit. Both the JAM and NEO come fixed with 3.5 mm wires.

The AIR is the debut Bluetooth portable amplifier for AROMA Audio that took three years of research and development. It supports many lossless transmission modes and utilizes ES9038Q2M DAC chipset to ensure an unsurpassed listening experience. There are eight digital filters to choose from, high and low gain, and three output ports, namely 4.4 mm balanced, 2.5 mm balanced, and 3.5 mm single-ended. All these within a package of only 190 grams!

Those in the Hong Kong head-fi scene will not be unfamiliar with Labkable. A brand hailed in Hong Kong, Labkable made a name for itself as one of the pioneers in making exotic headphone cables. Most, if not all, of Labkable cables come in intricate handwoven patterns and are made using premium high-quality materials. Extensive testing has been done in all their products to reduce the stethoscope effect to the lowest level possible.

Featured here are their latest products, namely the SUN and the MOON. Both employ the built-in detachable cable splitter system for easy switching of the different pin configurations for different in-ear monitors.
