Kyomi Audio will be at AXPONA 2016 with a wide variety of high-end audio products on active display. The Luxman MQ-300 ($16,000) celebrates their 90th Anniversary with a design akin to Luxman's classic MB-300 model from 1984. Using original oil capacitors and various other design characteristics of the older model, the MQ-300 has been crafted to provide a full tone range of audio and make your music sound as natural as possible. Set in a walnut wooden frame with a red piano lacquer finish and combined with a steel chassis, the MQ-300 is a terrific way for LUXMAN to celebrate their 90th Anniversary. An extra thick, highly rigid chassis minimizes external vibration & resonance. 1.6mm steel chassis, 2mm thick steel bottom plate and a 12mm aluminum top panel, ensures that the delicate audio signal will not be colored by external forces but allow the music to be enjoyed unadulterated. Luxman's MQ-300 vacuum tube stereo amplifier produces 8 Watts per channel with a frequency response from 10Hz to 30kHz. Their Shea single configuration and self-bias circuit has zero overall feedback. with the vacuum tube compliment being two 5AR4, four 6SN7GTB, and two TA-300B. Luxman's MQ-300 weighs in at a generous 64 lbs. The Luxman DA-250 ($2500) will also be at AXPONA.
Convergent Audio Technology JL7 monoblock amplifier will make their debut at AXPONA. CAT's JL7 stereo amplifier produces 200 watts per monoblock. Van Den Hul Crimson Stradivarius moving coil (MC) phono cartridge ($4995) features Koa Wood with special Stradivarius lacquer treated body that is said to result in superior sonics and an amazing sound! The van den Hul Crimson XGW Stradivarius is a top performance custom hand-built moving coil phono cartridge. A crossbreed of van den Hul's Canary and Condor cartridges, the Stradivarius is the latest creation from A.J. van den Hul. This MC cartridge features 24K gold coils, a proprietary Van den Hul 1s stylus, and boron cantilever. Frequency range is from 5Hz to 55kHz, tracking force is from 1.35 to 1.5 grams, and channel separation is rated at greater than 36/30dB. Load capacitance, while not said to be critical, the load impedance is 25 Ohms to 47 kOhms.
Also on display will be the Spendor D7 loudspeakers ($6000) that deliver music with a fresh vibrant realism that conventional loudspeakers cannot match. This new level of performance is the direct result of important Spendor innovations. The Spendor LPZ tweeter is built around a stainless steel front plate that forms an acoustic chamber directly in front of the lightweight diaphragm. The phase correcting microfoil equalizes sound wave path lengths whilst generating a symmetrical pressure environment so the tweeter operates in a balanced linear mode. The D7 mid-bass drive unit has an advanced EP77 polymer cone, whilst the low frequency drive unit uses a bonded Kevlar composite. The latest fifth generation Spendor Linear Flow port features a twin-venturi, tapered baffle element working in harmony with Spendor's proven dynamic damping, asymmetric bracing and rigid plinth mountings.
Lastly, the Marten Coltrane 3 loudspeaker ($100,000) is a three-way speakers employing the newly developed Cell drivers. The Cell tweeter cone is made of pure diamond. The Cell mid range unit is made from a new pure ceramic, premiered in Coltrane 3. First order crossover is a feature first developed for the Coltrane Supreme 2. Based on the joint venture with Accuton and their CELL technology, it creates a sound that is 100% time and phase coherent. Front – extremely rigid featuring a new aluminum layer sandwiched between two wooden layers. Features include wheel mounts for easy handling and re-tuning, superior bass control for a greater selection of levels to choose from. Frequency range is from 20Hz to 60kHz, with a sensitivity of 88dB/W/m as it presents a 6 Ohm load. Dimensions are 15.5" x 48" x 25.2" (WxHxD) and it weighs 209 lbs.
The Stealth Sakra V16, Sextet V16 and Dream AC V16 cables will be at AXPONA 2016. Pricing and details to be announced.
