The system consisted of Channel D's Pure Music and Pure Vinyl software ($129 and $299 respectively), a Mac Mini as controller, Music Hall MMF 9.3 turntable ($2300), plus Channel D's Seta Model L Phono preamplifier, ($3800), and Lynx Hilo ADC / DAC ($2500). For music storage they had a Synology DS-513 RAID 6 NAS with 9 TB of storage ($1700), speaker were the now discontinued Wisdom Audio D75 Adrenaline planar magnetic ($28,000 in 1995) and for turning the room acoustics was a variety of devices by ATS.
Within Enjoy the Music.com's recent review of the Channel D Seta Piccola Mk2 phono preamplifier, Senior Editor Tom Lyle said, "The Channel D Seta Piccola Mk2 is not only a great phono preamp, it is a phono preamp the can be used as a device to make digital copies of records on one's computer when paired with Channel D's Pure Vinyl software. The Seta Piccola Mk2 can be ordered with or without an RIAA correction curve circuit, so it can be used primarily as link in the analog chain to make these digital files, or as a phono preamp in the analog chain simply to listen to one's records. I used it a few times to record an LP onto my computer, but I was more interested in using it as a "normal" phono preamplifier along with its RIAA curve. Luckily, the Seta Piccola Mk2 is an excellent phono preamp." You can read his entire review of the Piccola Mk2 preamplifier at this link.
If you use a Mac and love vinyl and digital audio, you need to check out the multi-award winning software and hardware by Channel D.
