Spring Shows, Audio gear, And VR
Editorial By Suave Kajko
Happy Spring! The arrival of this long awaited season coincides with the Montreal Audio Fest, the longest running HiFi show in Canada. Many music fans and audiophiles will make the annual pilgrimage to the show, including George de Sa and myself, along with many other industry friends. This year's show runs between March 24 and 26 at the Bonaventure Hotel, in downtown Montreal. This is the second year the show will be run under the new name
-- Montreal Audio Fest, and since the effort is led by a nonprofit organization, the admission is completely free. If you love your music, this is a can't miss event! It's well worth the trip by car or train from Toronto (George and I will be hopping on the train again).
Spring is of course a wonderful opportunity to start spending a little more time outside. And for those of us who love listening to music, there are more ways than ever to enjoy our favorite tunes outside. Check out our Outdoor Speaker Buyer Guide in this issue and be prepared for the warmer weather.
On a different note, Stephanie Greenall introduces us to a handpicked selection of social and educational robots in her feature "Robots To Rock Your World". Have you ever dreamed of having a robot companion? I know I have!
Jeremy Phan on the other hand gives us an excellent guided tour of the coolest virtual reality devices and accessories found on the International CES show floor this past January. Have you tried VR gaming yet? Every time I try it, I'm amazed at how fast VR development is progressing. Some of these VR experiences are absolutely incredible.
Of course, topping of this issue are several hi-fi product reviews - ones that we thought would be worth your attention.
Hope you enjoy this issue!
