NOVO Magazine January / February 2017

Welcome to the second issue of NOVO -- the magazine that keeps you informed about the latest innovations in hifi, home theater and technology topics such as wearables, virtual reality, robotics, 3D printing and much more.

I am very pleased to announce that with the launch of this issue, we are beginning to expand the number of locations where print copies of NOVO will be available. Our expanded distribution now includes furniture and home accessory stores, as well as car dealerships -- in addition to all of the audio video stores that have always carried the magazine. Our plan is to make the magazine available at over 100 new locations by the summer of 2017, and get it into the hands of more readers than ever before. To see where you can pick up your copy, please check out www.novo.press/get-your-copy.

I am also thrilled to welcome Stephanie Greenall of We Haute Tech to our contributor team, who will help us explore the wonderful world of technology in upcoming editions. Stephanie is passionate about a wide range of technology topics and an amazing storyteller. Her first article "Life According to Your Lens", in this issue, introduces us to wearable and 360 degree cameras and takes us on a tour of some of the hottest models available today. I hope that you enjoy her unique perspective on the tech world as much as I do! I am equally as excited about Disha Prashar's special contribution to this issue entitled "Meet the Classy Cyborgs". Disha is a young teen and a member of the Classy Cyborgs, a group of 10 kids, aged between 13 and 15, that has achieved a remarkable feat -- they designed and built a Braille learning system for the visually impaired, through innovative thinking and technology. Read her amazing story on page 18!

Phil Gold on the other hand tackles an interesting hifi topic in the feature "Why Do We Need Better Cables?" This is an insightful story which explains how continued innovation in audio component and speaker design is driving the need for improved cables. Be warned however, this article will almost certainly make you think about upgrading your cables:-)

If you're considering upgrading to an Ultra HD or 4K TV, you won't want to miss Frank Labonte's feature on page 15. A good variety of Ultra HO content is finally available, from a wide range of sources, and Ultra HD TVs can be obtained at all price points, so now is definitely a good time to upgrade. Choosing the right Ultra HT TV can be a little tricky however- as not all sets offer the benefits of Ultra HD, so be sure to read Frank's guide.

Wrapping up this issue, we also present you with a number of excellent hifi products that we think are worth a good listen. Keep warm and enjoy your winter!
